Wedding at Duke Gardens - 2005

This has been a busy week for Jacoby Photo. Anne took some time off at he beach and now that she is back, Mark is headed to the mountains for a few days. This means we will be rested up for the Labor Day weekend weddings!

Monday was the monthly Photographic Society of the Triangle meeting. Great to see all the other local pro photographers and to attend a presentation by Shane Greene Photo from Hickory.

Tuesday we attended the annual photographers meeting at Duke Gardens. The meeting was conducted by Ashley Carmichael who is the new events manager at the Gardens. If you have any questions regarding Garden weddings, she’s the one to ask.

By the way, there is a $50 fee for every professional photo session at the gardens. Happily, Jacoby Photography is a Member and saves our brides $50 on bridal portrait sessions.

Our experience is that April through October is the popular wedding period. These dates fill up fast and are reserved early. Our policy is always first-come first-serve. Oh, and holiday weekends are very, very popular and book up first every year. So plan ahead and have a great weekend!

We had a great bridal shoot on Sunday. The bride was lovely and the camera just ate her up. (You know, I’ve always wondered who came up with that expression).

Hope everyone has a great weekend and don’t spend all your time making wedding plans!

We heard from Sheila & Larry who own the Magnolia Manor Plantation bed & breakfast over the weekend. They are making some big time additions to their wedding venue. Magnolia is already one of the best places to get married anywhere around so I can’t wait to see their improvements.

If you are interested in what they have to offer and to see their conversion of the carriage house reception pavilion, you can take a look at their website: http://www.magnoliamanorbnb.com/

Busy couple of weeks ahead of us here at the studio holding pre-wedding sessions with couples soon-to-be hitched, meeting with prospective clients and (my favorite) viewing proofs on the big screen with the newly weds. We keep a box of Kleenex at close hand for this meeting!

Not to mention weddings and more weddings.
