Tina & Ken - July 22

Well last weekend's wedding was great and I had expected to publish a couple of samples but the Bride & Groom haven't seen the proofs yet, so I'd feel bad if they saw them here first!

So here is one I like a lot without giving away too much! Needless to say the bride was lovely. But then again ALL brides are beautiful aren't they?

But this image reminds me of the question we ask all couples. What are you going to have your guests do when you exit the church? Well rice is definitely out since it’s been proven to be fatal to birds. Birdseed is nice but leads to the B&G ducking and running (it hurts!).

Sparklers are my personal favorite but works best after dark (duh) so bubbles are the most popular choice. They do photograph well after all. What we are waiting for is water balloons! But only if I get to keep my camera dry.

Maggie's Wedding

It struck me the other day that for someone who was so anxious to be finished with school (all those years ago) I sure get excited about going to photography workshops.

The beauty of digital photography is that the post production editing potential is almost without limit.

I will be attending two workshops this year sponsored by the Professional Photographers of NC association. I don’t care how proficient a photographer is using Photoshop and Painter, there is always a new technique or an artistic point of view to be explored. This keeps my ideas fresh and keeps me excited about what new features we can offer our clients.

We have a nice wedding tomorrow. We meet with this bride in 2005 to book her wedding. Then this Spring we had a great bridal session at Duke Gardens with her mom & younger sister along for the fun. Then we followed up with reviewing her bridal proofs and then our pre-wedding conference with both the bride & groom. No wonder we know her so well by now! I’ll post a couple of images next week!

Have a great weekend!

Hi,

It's mid-July in Raleigh and the heat index is 102. I'm so happy we're not working an outside wedding in this heat.

Back in May when it was a balmy 90, Sandy and I were shooting a garden wedding on the UNC campus in the middle of the day. Right after the ceremony she handed me her camera and said, "Hold this. I need to lay down before I pass out."

The true mark of a professional! She finished the task at hand and was concerned about her camera gear before she lost consciousness. lol

By the way, she felt better in a few minutes and the Bride & Groom never noticed. Oh the joy of having two shooters at each wedding!
