Bride and her Sister After the Wedding - 2007

April is here and we are happy to be as busy as possible. Weddings every weekend with a nice mix of bridal and engagement sessions thrown in. Anne is extra busy setting meetings with prospective clients and Mark has his nose to the monitor editing what we both are shooting. We couldn't be happier.

Easter and Passover are upon us as well. We are looking forward to a big family dinner this weekend. The kids will be hunting for Easter eggs and the adults will be eating too much.

Time to think about engagement and bridal sessions at the beach. Anne is working up a package and will be seeing how much interest there is. Oh yeah, you married folks can go too.

Have a great week and stay out of the pollen!

Sometimes you want to work on something new in the studio and you need a model. Where is a bride when you really need one? So we enlisted Lauren who at 13 is about 15 years away from saying "I do" but at 5'4" is tall enough and pretty too! We had to wrap her in white to simulate a wedding dress and shoes are not required!

We are already taking bookings for 2008 and we still have dates left in 2007. July 7th is a very popular date this year- 07/07/07. Needless to say that date was booked about 14 months ago.

Pretty busy last week with Anne working on some special projects, a bridal session at Duke Gardens, a wedding with reception at Exploris, studio work today and a bridal session in the studio tomorrow. Squeeze in some meetings with potential clients, pre-wedding meetings and some educational time and whew! Where does the time go?

Have a great week and if you know of anyone thinking about talking with us for 2007 & 2008 weedings encourage them to act sooner than later.

Oh by the way, if you are a current client, please be watching your mail for some special offers!

Duke Gardens 2006

We are working on a studio project where we have to pick out some of our favorite images. I've always been fond of this one. We should be finished early summer and we'll post the details here first.

Warm weather has got us in the mood for bridal sessions in the Gardens. I guess that's our version of spring fever.

Just got back from the monthly meeting of the Photographic Society of the Triangle (PST) which is a local affliate of the PPA. Tonight was a live presentation posing a bride. I don't care how much you think you know, everyone in the room came away with new ideas. Now to get my hands on a bride and try out some of those poses!

Photo: Duke Gardens 2004

The Professional Photographers of NC convention was great. We spent the majority of our time attending presentations by experts in the photography field and then we interacted with other photographers from around the state. We come away from these events with a fresh way of looking at photography and energized for a new year.

Speaking of the new year, Spring is almost upon us and time to get back to Duke Gardens. One of the wisest investments we have ever made was to become a member at Duke. The Gardens charge a per session fee for bridals & engagements unless your photographer is a Garden Member. We take care of scheduling session appointments with their event manger and the bride has one less thing to worry about( and one less expense). Plus you get to be photographed in the most beautiful setting in North Carolina.

The wedding planning season is in full swing. A lot of couples attended the Perfect Wedding Guide bridal show in Raleigh last Sunday. I had some free time at the convention so I had a quick walk around just to see what is new this year. The cakes looked especially good. But then again cake always looks good to me!

Anne & Mark are attending the Professional Photographers of NC convention for the next 5 days. We will attend seminars presented by national leaders in the industry and interact with 500 plus members of our profession.

We spend a lot of time and money on education to become better photographers and better studio managers. We know this pays off for our clients and is reflected in our work. We take our obligation very seriously and it's a lot of fun too!
